Own Representation Needed.

With all the support of three National MPs plus their own so called Taranaki friendly government in power and Taranaki still can't get traction for money on our overdue roading infrastructure requirements. In fact we loose out completely. Because the government does not deem our roading is of national significance. I've said it more than once, unless the Taranaki area has its own independent seat that is focused souly on local issues, puts Taranaki's issues up for the seats support for confidence and supply. Taranaki's priorities such as SH 1 north and the Waiwhkaiho Bridge will always be down the list of the governments priorities. No matter who is the government or how many of their MPs we have representing us. The fact is we will never be a priority unless we make ourselves so by taking advantage of the MMP system have our own seat, then use that seat to negotiate our terms every three years. Something for New Plymouth Mayor Peter Tennent to consider maybe after stepping down as Mayor next year.

Point of Difference

What is the point of difference between Rusty Kane Independent and a party candidate.
1st Rusty Kane is Independent
He puts the issues of New Plymouth first..
Not a parties issues first, as a party candidate does.
2nd Rusty Kane can negotiate New Plymouth's issue in a coalition deal with other parties.
Mainly the governing party, for his support in confidence and supply.
Party candidates can't do this they can only follow their parties line,
do as they are told or merely sit on the benches to make up the numbers.
3rd Rusty Kane as New Plymouth's Coalition Independent can bring New Plymouth's issues
forward as high priority ( Money for New Plymouth roading for example ) now.
Party candidates can only offer whats already in the system. ( Money for New Plymouth roads
in the next 10-25 years for example ) when New Plymouth needs it now.
Put New Plymouth's issues in the high priority (box) tick Rusty Kane New Plymouth Independent
as your high priority in this years election for your local candidate vote for New Plymouth.

Vote Rusty Kane and put New Plymouth first.
Vote Rusty Kane New Plymouth Independent.

New Plymouth Independent Needed

With the advent of MMP the more party votes a party gets, the more seats in parliament .Making metropolitan large cities politically all powerful, and the less populated regions like Taranaki and New Plymouth less important. Now that the regions are starting to feel and see the effects of this MMP political system. They can now see how an independent candidate independent and free of any political party restraints, can bring something of real value for the region or town to the negotiating table, It can negotiate the regions or towns priority wants and needs to a government in return for being a coalition partner and support it on matters of confidence and supply. Under MMP a local New Plymouth Independent Seat gives the political negotiating power to the region or town directly. Unlike a Party MP who puts his or her party first. All they can do is sit in the back benches and twiddle their thumbs. Doing squat for their region or town, not being able to negotiate anything other than follow their party line.
